Module 6: Suitability Analysis Final Map

This is the second part submission for the final project this week Module 6. In this map I have detailed a least cost analysis path for a Black Bear traveling between two different protected zone in the Coronado National Forest. We have detailed the height of the slopes in this and the different forest zones the bears would use for travel. We also put in the roads because in this it details that the bears are actually afraid of the streets because of the cars. This means that these can act as buffer zones to keep the bears away from them. So we ended up coming up with two different possible cases in this. It was a super fun project that has some real life applications for sure in this case. This would be a great project to use in real life for conservation to detail animal migration patterns. All I had to do was update each file with the reclassify tool and update their respective values. Then do a cost distance analysis of the different protected zones with the cost distance analysis tool. Then I used the corridor analysis tool  to connect the two and altered the zones to only include a specialized value we came up with. After that the map had a perfect model of the two different paths the bears might take in this case. This week was a great ending to a great class! I can't wait to see what comes next!
