Module 1: Visual Interpretation

This week we made 2 different maps one detailing the differences in coloring on the map ranging from very light to very dark. The other part of the map detailing the texture differences which ranged from very fine to very coarse which detailed the contextual differences between the different zones that were mapped. The second map detailed the different features on a couple different categories with 3 shadows of a water tower, building and tree. The Shape Size which showed a building, road and vehicles. The Pattern which I choose a parking lot, the water and a housing area. Finally a association which I used the pier and a swimming pool to describe. These maps were both very similar in that we created feature classes to alter these two maps. The main difference being that the first map was a polygon based feature and the second map utilized a point feature class. While similar these two maps had vastly different objectives though. The main being that the first map was used to view topographical differences based off of coloring and texturing caused by both natural formations and human made structures. The second map is based off of actually being able to identify the features themselves based off a couple different criteria's. Mostly being man made structures with some natural features as well. The second one requires a bit more identification on the viewers part as some of these structures are quite hard to make out.

This week was very informative and useful for aerial photography interpretation!

Maps mentioned are listed below:
