GIS 5945
In my portfolio I have included a multitude of maps detailing many of the skills and map making techniques I have learned through my various classes up to this point. I have included my work history and education history as well through a resume format. This is elaborated on even more with my about me which links together my past/current work situations combined with my current education pursuits with GIS into a hopeful future of GIS conservation work. I am hoping through all of this that I can eventually map invasives to hopefully bring attention to and reduce the spread of them in the Central/South Florida area. Even my included maps bring skills to that fact as well which is why I included them. Tree density will help with mapping canopy's where they could be attached too. The kernel density will help with showing dense areas of invasives for a good aesthetic representation of the population. Even the mapping for the hurricane I included could help show migration patterns. The portfolio process detailed a few key requirements that we needed to display skills. But I hoped to go even further and demonstrate those skills in a applicable way that I could show these to future employers who need these things mapped in that field. I have keyed in on the most useful tools and mapping methods for this as well. That has been my basis going through all my classes thus far. Anticipating and building on how best to monitor invasives. I hope my portfolio is to your liking!
